Here at trekMountains we’ve been enjoying catching up with Kendal Mountain Festival 2020 in the comfort of our own lounge. This year you can watch all the movies and listen to all the talks online, and it is all available on demand until 31 December, so that means you’ve still got plenty of time to enjoy it all. Cast it to your TV, watch on your computer, tablet or phone – the choice is yours.
With more than 200 films, 15 specialist sessions and over literature talks, there’s something here for every adventure and outdoor enthusiast.
So far, our favourite film has been Chhaupadi
This film offers a fascinating insight into some of the cultural practices in Nepal. It follows one very special expedition by Edurne Pasaban, the first female to ascend all fourteen 8000m peaks in the world.
In this film Edurne leads an expedition to the sacred mountain Saipal in a remote corner of the Himalayas, taking with her young women from the area who want to transform the unfair sexist traditions that marginalize them.
We wonder what your favourite film, speaker or book will be?
