Even a short trip can reveal a lot about the culture which makes Bhutan so special. Our 2-centre trip takes in both Paro and Thimpu, and can be added as an extension to any trek in Nepal or India.
Walk up to see the famous Taksang or “Tiger’s Nest” monastery, clinging to the rock just outside Paro, or visit Bhutan’s National Museum. In Thimpu we can see young monks learning craftwork and painting Buddhist thangka before visiting the Traditional Medicine Institute and the National Library.
No visit to Bhutan would be complete without a visit to a dzhong (monastery/fortress), and we visit Tashichhodzong in Thimpu – the site of the King of Bhutan’s offices and the central monastic body.
